New Beers
Weihenstephan

From the world's oldest still-functioning brewery, consistently winning international competitions, these Germans know what they are doing. After all, the monastery has been officially licensed to brew since 1040AD. We have the full available "core" list as well as the seasonal Korbinian strong dark larger.

They say...
Hefeweissbier - naturally cloudy, refreshing, yeasty fragrance and taste
Kristallweissbier - pearling, effervescent taste, crystal wheat beer. It quenches your thirst like no other beer
Dunkel - supple, malty and mellow. Its harmonious flavour is the great strength of our dark wheat beer
Original - the long lager time makes our pale beer a matter of mild, flavourful beer enjoyment
Tradition - an aromatic beer with a malty character. An archetypal Bavarian beer
Pilsner - slightly bitter, mild, with a fragrance of hops - a beer with character
Korbinian - a double bock beer that has what it takes. With a malty aroma and great taste

One of Weihenstephan's radio ad's - if you want the pronunciation!

New Beers

They say...
     Murray’s Sassy Blond
is a Belgian-style Pale Ale, and we believe it's the only beer of its kind brewed in the country. A deep, golden colour with a tight, off-white head, Murray’s Sassy Belgian Blond has a spicy-orange flavour and aroma, with hints of toasty/biscuity malt and finishing with restrained bitterness. The unique characteristics of this beer are derived from a distinctive Belgian yeast and imported Styrian Golding hops. With a moderate alcohol content of 4.5% alc/vol, Graeme recommends Murray’s Sassy Belgian Blond as an excellent accompaniment to seafood.

Murray’s Nirvana Pale Ale is a hybrid of an American Pale Ale, combined with the classic English Pale Ale. A brilliant light-golden colour, Murray’s Nirvana Pale Ale has a full-bodied finish and complex character. With an alcohol content of 4.5% alc/vol, Nirvana’s fresh citrusy/spicy aroma and flavour is strongly influenced by generous use of New Zealand-grown Cascade and Hallertau hops. This is well balanced with biscuity/toffee flavours from selected caramalts.
Winner of a Silver medal at the New Zealand International Beer Awards 2006, and a Bronze medal at this year’s Australian International Beer Awards, Murray’s Nirvana Pale Ale will be available all year round. Graeme says it’s great on its own, or an excellent accompaniment to spicy Thai, Indian or Vietnamese food.

Murray’s Pilsner, with its spicy/citrus hop character and wheat-biscuity malt balance, is an intense lager experience.  Big on flavour and aroma, enjoy on its own or with your favourite barbequed food.

New Beers
Bridge Road Brewers
They say...
Beechworth Pale Ale opens with high notes of candied malts and tropical fruits and closes with a delectable hop profile. Often the yard stick of microbreweries, this beer is based on classic American style Pale Ales; crisp and refreshing; a mouthful of extroverted American hops. The hefty hop profile makes this beer one for the real enthusiast and pairs well with spicy or oily foods.

We say...
Part of their special "Chevalier" range, the Saison in it's classy 750ml Pinot Noir-type bottle is a large step above the usual suspects and a good example of the style. Perfect for sharing or even for keeping to yourself!

New Beers
Henry of Harcourt

They say...
The Henry family runs an orchard and cidery nestled under Mount Alexander at Harcourt, just over an hour North of Melbourne. They specialise in making "Real Ciders & Perry" utilising the best local fruit and traditional cidermaking methods.

We say...
Nothing like the commercialised stuff, this is for real. Their Perry is known internationally and if you've never had a perry (essentially, sort of a pear cider) this is the one to have.

SEASONAL BEERS

Seasonal

Red Hill Brewery

* * * HOP HARVEST ALE 6% - SPECIAL RELEASE * * *

They say...
The brewers were knee deep in our hops for this special brew; using hops just harvested from our own vines which were then steeped in our conditioning vats for months, this is a traditional English style bitter. Copper in colour with a strong malt character, balanced by the use of our new seasons Willamette and Goldings hops to create a full hop flavour and aroma. The complex grain bill provides a full, rich and malty ale that has hints of marmalade and lashings of hop resin flavours, finishing with a peppery spicy note.
